In an effort to reduce delays and heavy congestion at Newark Airport, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey started a $97.3 million rehabilitation program in early 2014.

According to the Port Authority, the capital improvements are projected to save approximately 30 seconds per flight, resulting in $9.4 million annually in cost savings.
